Vacation Week

At work, we choose our vacations for the entire year in January or February. I chose this week as my vacation week because I like trying to do something for Pioneer Day, but, I never did get anything planned. Heavenly Father was watching out for us, though. We have had a great week. It's amazing, the way things have fallen into place this week while we've "re-connected" and spent time together, as a family.

Monday, Aaron had to work but I took the kids to the park and we stayed up late and watched a movie on the hide-a-bed. They absolutely love doing that.

Tuesday, Aaron surprised me with a date to the temple. My friend came and watched all the kids, we drove to the temple and had a great time together, talking all the way there and back. When we held hands in the temple, it was electric. It was amazing the spirit that was with us, and we both felt at peace with the way things are going. When we got back, it was too late to do much of anything with the kids, but we went for a walk. The kids saw a playground and wanted to stop and play, but I suggested we keep walking to the gas station and have Daddy buy candy bars. Vanessa was especially excited, "treats make me HAPPY! That's a great idea!" she said.

Wednesday I had won some tickets to Hollywood Connection, so we got a free family activity. The kids had fun on the rides, and mini golf.

After all that fun, we had our marriage counseling appointment. We really like this therapist, he is SO funny and that's great when we're talking about things that are not easy to talk about. But he is great, and we're making great  progress.

Thursday we went bowling. We are on the Kids Bowl Free program so we only had to pay for shoe rental. Our neighbor came along, and the kids really enjoyed themselves.

after bowling, we went home for a few hours, then headed to Liberty Park (unfortunately I left the camera in the van and didn't get any pictures of that part). We met some of our friends from Tooele there, and it was fun to let the kids play in the water while we just relaxed and talked.

We got home pretty late Thursday night, and Aaron had to get up early for work. It was hard for him to go to bed alone while I cleaned up. He still has some anxiety about everything. He's afraid what will happen if he slips up again. We had a long talk though, and I'm amazed at the man that I married. He has come so far in so little time. I know there will be 'bumps in the road' but I know that with Heavenly Father on side, we will come out victorious.

It was hard for us both when Aaron went back to work today, we wanted the days off together to last forever. But we are looking forward to the next vacation time, when we can do some fun activities with our amazing kids, and simply ENJOY being a family. They will not be little forever, and we're trying to enjoy it while it lasts.

I love you Aaron Glen Stucky!
